Good Questions, Honest Answers
Everything Springfield neighbors usually want to know before their first visit — and if we missed one, just call.
What areas around Springfield do you serve?
We're based in Springfield (01103) and cover about a 20-mile reach. That's every Springfield neighborhood, from Forest Park, East Forest Park, Sixteen Acres and Pine Point to McKnight, Liberty Heights, the South End, Indian Orchard and East Springfield, plus nearby towns like Chicopee, West Springfield, Agawam, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Wilbraham, Ludlow, Hampden and Holyoke. If you're close to that edge, call and ask; a longer list usually makes the trip worthwhile.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. A handful of photos and a short call is usually all we need to price a Springfield job. If a job is large, or hard to judge until we see it, we come out and look at no charge. In both cases the price is settled before we book a date.
Do you charge by the hour or by the job?
Whenever we can, we price by the job so you know the total ahead of time. For open-ended punch lists, we agree on a rate and a rough scope together first. If the work goes faster than expected, the bill reflects that.
Are your pros licensed and insured?
Yes. The work is done by insured local pros who hold the licenses and registrations required in Massachusetts for the job at hand, so electrical and plumbing connections are handled by licensed tradespeople. Ask us anything before we start.
What jobs do you take on?
The everyday list of repairs and upkeep: drywall and plaster patches, door and storm door adjustments, TV and shelf mounting, furniture assembly, ceiling fans and light fixtures, dimmers and smart switches, hardwired doorbells and thermostats, faucet, toilet, disposal and supply line repairs and replacements, fence and gate fixes, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, paint touch-ups, garage storage and seasonal maintenance. Hand us the full list, small stuff included, and we'll map out one visit to cover it.
Can you work on an older Victorian or a two-family?
Yes, and a lot of our Springfield work is exactly that. Old houses in McKnight, Forest Park and the Hill neighborhoods have plaster walls, heavy original doors, tall ceilings and porches that need a careful hand. For two-families and multi-unit houses, we can work through both units in one visit and coordinate with tenants on access if you're the owner.
Can you help get my house ready for winter?
Few visits pay off more than this one. In October and November we clean gutters after the leaves drop, check downspouts so meltwater runs away from the foundation, shut off and drain outdoor spigots, re-caulk drafty trim, adjust doors and storm doors so they seal, and swap in fresh smoke and CO detector batteries. A few hours in the fall can save you an ice dam or a burst pipe in February.
Can I just text you a photo of the problem?
Please do. One close photo and one from across the room, plus a line about what's going on, usually tells us enough to understand the job and often to give a firm price. It also means we arrive with the right parts the first time.
How do I schedule, and how soon can you come?
Give us a call or fill in the contact form with your address and a few words about the job. We'll give you a real arrival window instead of an all-day wait and let you know if we're running behind. Small jobs often fit in within the week; bigger lists may take a little longer so we can block enough time to finish in one trip. Snowstorms sometimes shift the schedule in winter, and we'll call you if they do.
Got a list? Let's shorten it.
One quick call or text gets you a real price and a real arrival time — usually within the week.
